As an animator, I’m always interested in finding new ways of using animation, whether it’s as a design or a storytelling tool. I enjoy learning new tools and techniques, but it all comes down to conveying a sense personality and empathy – which can rely on the smallest of gestures.
I think motion should be an integral part of any design language for our digital world. In Wolff Olins’ multi-disciplinary environment, I’m always working in tandem with other specialisms. This pushes me to continuously challenge and stretch my own approach.
I started out exploring storytelling in animation while making short films at the Royal College of Art. I worked as an animation director for 7 years on global commercial campaigns for American Express and Ford, as well as site-specific work and documentaries, picking up an ADC Young Gun, a British Animation Award and a BAFTA Nomination.
